Thread: im the only goth...

ok, my school is 99% prep. (no offense to anyone here who is prep) i love to wear black, died black hair and red highlights, the gothic styles from hottopic and spencers. i love black and red! so what? i wear black maybe... once a week or twice a week last year, then started wearing it more often. then, everyone, especially the popular preps, call me "GOTHIC RENE". WHAT THE ****?!? i mean, come on, i am like the only goth in my grade. do i mind it? eh, i dont care. but now, i am the goth of the grade. and, since i have worn black and gone "goth", some of my friends r now copying me. so, basicially, im goth and emo, emo cuz ppl at my school think cutting urself is emo if u also wear black. but basicially, if u wear black to school like me, u r considered gothic. me, im a goth. i decided, heh, whats the problem with going that direction?

but outside of school, when i say im goth, other freinds and ppl, dont believe me at all. um... well, this is kinda awkward, im thinking. they like "rene, ur not gothic. ur... unique. ur like, a jockett/little goth/nerd/dork/wild thing/outcast/ cooliest person! so, i am not goth outside of school, but in school, i am.

i know, this is a confusing thread.

but i am confused... am i goth or not?

i thinks that sterotyping people is absolute bullshit.....just because you wear black doesn't mean your goth, just because some people wear skinny jeans and converses doesn't make them 'emo'...the world has started to create sterotypes of people, that emos cut themselves etc when it is compltely stupid....

I wear black and yes like the colour but that doesn't make me 'emo' or 'goth'. I am called emo...but don't call myself emo because i don't believe i am.The fact that then some people call themselves these sterotypes is even more stupid...you cannot...cannot sterotype someone!!!! Everyone is compltely different!!! You cannot go up to someone who is wearing a black top and say: Omfg...you;re wearing black..goooth!!!'



So i say...in my opinion...you are yourself and nothing else...and that is who you should be....

agree fully i do not wear black but i do not judge anyone who does where black.

i guess you could class that as goth, but a really goth person usually wears gothic cloths out side of school as they have to were a uniform here lol.

goths are cool, it wouldnt be a placebo concert without the goths, some of the things they wear at just unreal. also best people to hang with at a concert as there not out to look for fights and shit like some idiots that i come across.

umm ok..I just re-read that bit...and not trying to be mean here really i'm not

but...

it just seems as though you are trying to be a 'poser' here...you are 'dressing up' as a 'goth' in school because obviously you want to stand and be unique but...goths...don't just dress as 'goths' in school or whatever...they are like it most of the time because that is them and that is their style....no offense...this seems like attention whoring....you are trying to be different in the way of something that you don't seem to be natural as outside...which makes it seem like...you are not naturally a goth...if you get my drift...o.O

just because you like black and wear it doesn;t mean you are goth...i like black...i wear black...doesn;t mean i am a goth....

i still go by what i said....be yourself don;t try to be something else to be different.....

agree there as some girls i no at school totally do not look goth, just suddenly i run into them down the mall and their all gothed up and some looking good :inlove: lol. theirs one girl at school we call goth girl (she dont mind the name) and she only dresses goth/emo etc when she goes clubbing.

dont let it bother you some ppl are too stupid to come up with something better to b**ch about than someone else's outfit.

no one dresses like a goth at school lol you would be kicked out here. also good to see everyone in this thread are fans of goths.

well to be considered a goth or emo depends on your style of music, as i listen to allot or rock and heavy metal im considered a "gothic emo", so i suppose u can be whatever you want.
